Exciting news: E-Plus Gruppe has been selected for a Customer Engagement Award for Cross Channel Marketing Activities, based on the OneView Commerce platform solution. The award is given by Retail TouchPoints (RTP), a US publishing network for retail executives. Check it out here: http://www.retailtouchpoints.com/features/awards/13-retailers-win-2014-customer-engagement-awards

What a great achievement for the entire commercial E-Plus team launching the initiative in early 2014.

X-channel at E-plus: Amazing press coverage

The x-channel programme (and the technical solution) we set up at E-plus got some amazing press coverage. The approach using SAP/hybris as the e-commerce foundation and OVC (One View Commerce) as a universal “one basket” solution has turned out to be quite successful: delivering against business expectations, and becoming a strong reference case for the telco industry in Europe. Give the reports a look:

Had E-plus CCO Kay Schwabedal not kicked off the programme end of 2013 , the               x-channel breakthrough at E-plus  would never have been achieved by mid 2014.

Omni-Channel Retailing at E-Plus Gruppe: Always at your Service!

It’s pleasing to see how well E-Plus Gruppe’s omni-channel programme is being perceived (and actually driven) by the company’s retail organisation. In an interview with “Telecom Handel” Marcus Epple, who heads the unit, points out that what we are doing is clearly following the customer’s request. Give the interview a look, it’s worth a read (in German, though): http://www.telecom-handel.de/Marktreports/Mobilfunk/E-Plus-startet-Multichannel-Projekt-Der-Kunde-will-es-so-34320.html

“Transforming a Company is quite difficult”

In a WSJ-interview (http://blogs.wsj.com/cfo/2014/04/04/xerox-cfo-an-atmosphere-for-transformation/), Xerox-CFO Kathryn Mikells states that “transforming a company is quite difficult”. Hence, she asked many questions before she took the post last year. One question was, how accepting the organisation might be of people from the outside. And, the answer she received was interesting and actually quite remarkable, to my mind: “Hey we’re going to be as accepting to you as you bring value to us and the company.” What a great attitude. More of this, please.

From Project to Product

We had a fantastic discussion today on what it means to transform a company from project to product. As we have a huge digital content platform as a foundation: Should we e.g. become kind of an SAP, licencing our core stack (mandatory) and then products the client is looking for on top? Still lots of work to do to understand what model generates most value for the shareholders, in our case …
