The Omnichannel Value Debate

Great round hosted by Shah Karim at dmexco 2016 on what it needs to make Omnichannel strategies successful. I enjoyed sitting on a panel with Intershop-founder Stephan Schambach and Stefan Wild, Chief Digital Officer at Media-Saturn. Key aspect: you can buy great technology, and you can employ the best marketing&sales strategies – but if you don’t find a way to put organizational change on top of your management agenda, your Omnichannel approach will go bust or not happen at all. Exciting news: E-Plus Gruppe has been selected for a Customer Engagement Award for Cross Channel Marketing Activities, based on the OneView Commerce platform solution. The award is given by Retail TouchPoints (RTP), a US publishing network for retail executives. Check it out here: http://www.retailtouchpoints.com/features/awards/13-retailers-win-2014-customer-engagement-awards

What a great achievement for the entire commercial E-Plus team launching the initiative in early 2014.

Experimenting with self-learning Recommendation Engine Apptus

We are quite pleased using Swedish recommendation engine Apptus to enhance the search and shopping experience on smartkauf.de. Implementation into hybris/SAP was easy, and we are seeing some significant impact on the average conversion rate. The tool seems to be quite powerful and we are looking for ways to utilise the technology even more. In a nice little article, German media magazine kontakter touched upon the topic – see a cut-out below:

Omni-Channel Retailing at E-Plus Gruppe: Always at your Service!

It’s pleasing to see how well E-Plus Gruppe’s omni-channel programme is being perceived (and actually driven) by the company’s retail organisation. In an interview with “Telecom Handel” Marcus Epple, who heads the unit, points out that what we are doing is clearly following the customer’s request. Give the interview a look, it’s worth a read (in German, though): http://www.telecom-handel.de/Marktreports/Mobilfunk/E-Plus-startet-Multichannel-Projekt-Der-Kunde-will-es-so-34320.html
